As I reflected on my year of professional progress, I thought I would jot down a few of my top Pearl Strategies highlights (in no particular order).

National Symphony Orchestra of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts concert in Trinidad

I had the opportunity to organize this concert as part of my consultancy with Ross Advertising and in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Port of Spain. More than just a concert it was a two-day event including classes, two concerts, a nation-wide television broadcast, and one mighty big reception at the Prime Minister’s residence. My favorite part was watching the television director teach the Trini camera crew how to shoot a live classical performance. Big up to Habib Azar and Jay Millard!

Nick & 2Js restaurant opening

I was so excited when Nneka Daniel Braveboy finally opened her restaurant in November. We started this process more than a year and a half ago but then her landlord turned crazy. Complete with an authentic dirt oven, Nick & 2Js is a true Trini treat!

Tobago Fashion Weekend friends

As the coordinator of international media for Tobago Fashion Weekend I had the privilege of meeting and buddy’ing up with Dayton Thomas, Starene, Rhett Rocque Danielle James, Margaux Joffe, Ricardo Bailey, Sean Lyn, Jasmine Dotiwala and Douglas Gordon. Plus … I got to see Memsor Kmarake and Zachary Simmons again! Mwah!

Style Spirit

It’s always a pleasure to be a part of an effort to make a difference. I applaud Trinidad Lookbook for shouldering the burden of Style Spirit Fashion Weekend for all the new and emerging fashion industry professionals. I also HEART Misa Hylton and Jai Hudson and hope they come for Carnival 2013!

Down Syndrome Family Network Buddy Walk

I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Down Syndrome Family Network (DSFN) and was thrilled when our first Buddy Walk (the only one in the Caribbean) was a tremendous success with more than 650 participants. I was near tears to see families with those with Down syndrome realizing they are not alone.
