Laura Cotton trains DSFN self advocates

I have the privilege of training the Down Syndrome Family Network self advocates in the art of public speaking. Our sessions are every quarter and every time I get a gem of a response.   This time we played a “Jeopardy” game in which they had to answer questions selected from a board.

Jeff chose a square under the “Buddy Walk & Workshops” category.

“Why people should come to these workshops?” I read out loud.

He centered himself, looked straight into the camera, smiled and said, “To see me!”

I loved the confidence and the knowledge of his value. We should all have the same certainty and coolness.
